The privilege to serve as an elected prosecutor has led to many jury trials, accolades from victim’s advocacy groups, members of the bar, and the prosecutors’ association. He has appeared in documentaries such On Death Row, Snapped, On the Case, and an article in the Texas Lawyer. Most rewarding has been relationships built from serving victims of violent crime and building partnerships with law enforcement.
Micheal summarizes his pro law enforcement and community policing motto as, “If you are not an outlaw then you are in law enforcement.” He advocates the mantra of professional prosecution holding justice is the reasoned application of the law to the evidence by the people of the community. The result like all human endeavors is fallible and falls far short of God’s divine justice. Still the attempt ranks among the greatest callings of humanity.
